Nearly the whole frame is grass standing in water, and it is the reflections that make it — every stem is doubled, so the marsh reads as a dense field of fine vertical lines with pale water showing between them, running back in bands to the treeline. Up in the top right corner a white shrimp boat sits at a dock with its rigging up, small and sharp against a flat pale sky.

Almost a texture study, with one point of interest set into it. Quiet, graphic, and unlike anything else in the collection.
