Where Did You Get Engaged?

There’s no doubt that Charleston, SC is one of the most beautiful and popular spots to live or visit in the Lowcountry. It’s also one of the most popular spots to get engaged and married. The Justin Falk Photography team is aware of both seeing that all of us are native Charlestonians and work partly in the Wedding/ Engagement business. So, the question we want to ask is, where did you get engaged? Was it one of the several places that are listed below or somewhere else? If it’s somewhere else leave a comment about where it was and how it went!

The first place on this list is the beautiful Magnolia Gardens and Plantation. Known for its immaculate display of flowers (specifically Azaleas) and its beautiful plantation style home. Many people who decide to get engaged will do so either on the white bridge (pictured below) or the red bridge that is there as well.

The second place is the Pineapple fountain on the border of Downtown Charleston in Waterfront Park. This place provides a great source of scenery with its beautiful flower display with the ocean right behind the fountain, not to mention the scenic rushing waters of the ocean and the fountain.

The next place is the Gazebo at Whitepoint Garden on the Battery is another scenic location to get engaged and have your wedding. The scenery in the open and quaint park is breathtaking with the water on the battery being a perfect backdrop to any engagement photo.

A usual suspect for engagements is none other than Rainbow Row off East Bay Street in Downtown Charleston. The row of colorful homes provides a great backdrop for photos with its historical architecture and vibrancy. These two reasons are a couple of several why a lot of people decide to “pop” the question of marriage in this quintessential area of Charleston.

Just down the street from Rainbow Row is Broad Street. Gaining its name from the width of the road, this other quintessential street of Downtown Charleston provides many opportunities for people to “pop” the question. Whether it be out front of the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon or at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church; there are plenty of opportune locations down this famous street.

Last, but certainly not least is Philadelphia Alley. This scenic alley in Downtown Charleston has a very extensive history; an earlier blog of ours has a summary of some of the history. This alley provides a welcoming feel as you walk down you have beautiful plants and flowers on either side of you. The warmer colors mixed with the historical architecture make Philadelphia Alley picturesque.
