The Battery III
The Battery at sunset, looking down the promenade with a storm going out to sea.
The walkway runs from the bottom of the frame up to the right along the seawall, and the whole left side is the houses on East Battery — the yellow one with its piazza, palmettos down the street, hedges cut square. Everything is lit that particular late gold. Then, out over the harbor on the right, there is a lightning bolt sitting in the cloud, which is the part most people only find on a second look.
Warm, layered, and slightly dangerous at one edge. A strong print of a very well-known view.
