The foreground is where this happens. The backwash was running off the sand in curves as the next wave came in, and a long exposure turned those curves into wide silky swirls filling the bottom two thirds of the frame — carrying gold down from the sky and blue out of the shadow. Above, the sun comes up behind broken cumulus lit orange underneath, with rays showing between them. The pier sits low and small at the left.

Vertical, warm, with a lot of movement low down. It works well large.
