The moon came up while the sky was still light, so it sits peach-colored against lavender rather than white against black. The pier runs in from the left with all its structure showing — pilings, cross-bracing, the rail — and the pavilion at the end carries its green roof, the only cool color anywhere in the frame. There are people standing along the deck. The sea underneath is quiet, with one wave breaking.
