Folly Pier Sunset
The Folly Beach Pier with the sun low behind it.
Everything in this frame has gone the same color. The sky is a flat burning orange with a little cloud drawn through it, the pier is a black silhouette running the full width of the picture, and the sea in front has taken the orange completely, so the waves read as gold lines rather than as water. The sun sits as a soft disc just above the deck. The pavilion at the pier's end is the only complicated shape in it.
Vertical, and effectively one color. Simple, and strong from a distance.
