Skies of Fire
The Pineapple Fountain at Waterfront Park under a sky that has gone red.
The park is laid out symmetrically and I shot it that way — fountain dead center, clipped hedges stepping out on both sides, palmettos matched left and right, the harbor flat behind. That order is exactly what makes the sky work against it, because the cloud overhead is doing the opposite: crimson and torn, running back over the top of the frame with purple behind it. The fountain itself stays dark.
Red, purple, black. Formal underneath and completely disorderly above.
