What the color gives you that the black and white does not is the fern. Resurrection fern grows green along the tops of the limbs, following each one out from the trunk like a stripe, and against the grey bark it is the brightest thing in the frame. Several limbs have come down to rest on the ground and curve back up again. The floor underneath is red-brown leaf litter, swept clear of everything else.
