Sand
Wind-worked sand at the top of the beach, in black and white.
Nearly the whole frame is sand, and it is not flat — the wind has mounded it into soft overlapping ripples that run away from the camera and catch light along every ridge. A clump of sea oats leans in from the upper left. Three weathered posts stand off to the right, one tall and two cut down to stumps. The sky above is plain dark grey with nothing in it at all.
A texture study more than a view. In black and white it reads as pure shape.
