God's Flashlight
Light coming through a break in the cloud over the Atlantic, off the Lowcountry coast.
The cloud was solid except for one gap, and through that gap the light came down in shafts you could actually see, landing on the water in a bright patch. Underneath it, a rock groin runs out from the left with surf breaking along its length. The detail most people miss is on the horizon — a small shrimp boat, outriggers out, sitting directly under the light.
Dark at the edges, gold through the middle. It gives a room a focal point without needing to be large.
