Foggy Sunrise on Folly
Three old pilings in the wash at Folly Beach, with the sun coming up.
The stumps sit close to the camera and low, worn down until their tops split into fibers, and the tide runs past them smooth and pink. The sky above is doing three separate things at once: a dark purple band along the top, a hard red and magenta layer through the middle, and gold sitting on the horizon over to the right. All of it comes back off the wet sand.
Purple, red and gold. Warm and quite loud, with three small dark shapes holding it down.
