Driftwood Dawn
A fallen tree on the beach at first light, with the tide around it.
The tree lies right across the foreground, root mass torn open on the left and the trunk reaching away to the right, so it splits the frame on a diagonal. The water runs under and around it and has gone soft with the exposure. On the wet sand to the right there are hundreds of small raised bumps left behind by the tide, each one catching a little pink. Further out, a second snag stands alone in the water.
Pink, lavender and silver. Soft throughout, and larger in feeling than it first looks.
