Blue Steel Pier
Folly Beach Pier at blue hour, seen across a wide stretch of exposed low-tide sand.
Nearly all of this frame is the flat, and the flat is what makes it. The sand is ribbed into ripples for what looks like a hundred yards, and every ridge catches a different piece of the sky, so the ground reads blue and cream at the same time. The pier is small and far to the left, marked by a line of warm lights. Overhead the cloud is drawn out into streaks.
Cool, quiet, close to abstract from a distance. It works where a loud print would not.
