The whole sky went at once. What makes it work is that the street stayed ordinary underneath it — the traffic lights are green, a few cars are out, the street lamps are already on, and the crosswalk sign is doing its job. Palmetto fronds cut across the color on both sides. The steeple sits dead center at the end of the street, white against orange.
