Moonrise over Folly Pier II
The Folly Beach Pier at moonrise, shot vertical from down on the sand.
The moon came up before the light had gone, so it sits pale and soft in a sky that is still lavender rather than dark. The pier's green-roofed pavilion is lit from underneath, and you can just make out people standing along the rail. In the foreground the exposure ran long enough to turn each wave into a band of movement rather than a wave.
Vertical, and mostly sky. Good for a narrow wall or a stair landing where a horizontal print will not fit.
