Buoys
A wall of old buoys hung on a shingled building in Maine.
Every one of them is different, and that is the whole picture — dozens of painted floats hung on nails and rope across a weathered shingle wall in red, yellow, teal, orange, green and white, most chipped down to bare wood and foam in places. They are stacked around a plain window with a pale panel behind the glass, and a row of them stands along the sill underneath. Hard side light throws each one's shadow onto the boards.
Every color at once against blue-grey wood. The most cheerful thing I sell, and it works in a kitchen.
