Breaking Dawn I
Dawn at Folly Beach with a single beam of light across the sky.
There is one shaft of light in this frame and it runs the whole way across it — up out of the horizon near the pier on the left and away to the upper right, pale blue against a deep purple sky. Underneath it the horizon is pink and the pier sits small and dark. In the foreground the tide has gone smooth, and a few old piling stumps stand up out of it, black against the water.
Purple, pink and one hard diagonal. Cool, dramatic, and unusually simple.
